Serious Game

During my time at university I undertook a module on serious games, the aim of this module was to plan and develop a game for young people with learning difficulties and deafness to teach them money management skills according to a predefined curriculum. This was a team project and therefore credit must be awarded to the other members of the team for their graphical input and their input to the planning phase of the project. The Main coding was carried out by me using XNA game studio 3.1.

The resulting game is based on the game show 'The Price is Right' and a screenshot is shown below:

Computer Graphics / Thesis

My final thesis for university centred around the accurate modelling of paper utilising the graphics card. The aim was to move away from traditional rendering techniques through the use of a ray tracing based approach, this proved to be unfeasible. However, a solution was created that made use of the graphics card's geometry shader capabilities , this subdivided a plane and added a curvature each rendering loop. The Program was created in open GL 3.2 and the results are shown below :
